How are the funds from BUDDY'S Race Against Cancer used?
Money from the BUDDY'S Race Against Cancer allows Thompson Cancer Survival Center to provide cancer services to communities with big needs and little opportunities. For nearly two decades, TCSC has delivered much-needed cancer screenings and education to thousands of medically-underserved individuals throughout East Tennessee and Southern Appalachia.
Mobile mammography, as well as prostate and cervical cancer screenings and education are provided to the individuals in communities throughout the area who have never received - or could afford - these potentially life-saving services.
All proceeds raised by BUDDY'S Race Against Cancer are used to support Cancer Outreach Services.
Money from the race is collected by individuals and teams through participation and fundraising, and raised through grants, as well as corporate and individual sponsorships. This year's goal is $375,000.
