Birdies for BUDDY'S Race Against Cancer

Birdies for BUDDY’S Race Against Cancer is a fundraising program designed to give avid golfers the opportunity to generate contributions based on the number of “birdies” they make through November 30, 2011.

Contributions benefit the BUDDY’S Race Against Cancer which provides funding for Thompson Cancer Survival Center’s Outreach Services program. Cancer Outreach Services offers cancer education and screenings to medically-underserved individuals in 18 counties across East Tennessee.

How does it work?

Register for the program using the link below.*  Set a fundraising goal that includes your pledge (how much money you will donate for every birdie you make through November 30, 2011). Keep track of how many birdies you make as you golf during the designated period. Return to this webpage and click on the "Fulfill My Pledge" link to make your donation

There are two ways to pledge:
• A per-birdie amount for every birdie made until November 30, 2011 (example: $1 pledge per birdie, $1 x 50 birdies = $50 donation)
• A one-time flat donation

*If you registered online for the 2010 BUDDY'S Race Against Cancer, your contact information may already be in the system.  Once you click on the link below, login using your email address and password in the spaces provided.  On your account page, click on "Register Now" and select the "Birdies" event.

What is a birdie?

A “birdie” is a score of one stroke better than “par” for any golf hole on the course. “Par” is the normal expected score of a golfer on any given hole. For example, on a par 4 hole, a score of 3 is a birdie.
